Source of HireHere is our weekly feature in which we share the top articles we enjoyed from the past week about recruitment marketing, social recruiting and anything else in the recruiting space. In this article, we’ll be talking about the Source of Hire, outlawing HR, recruiters and refs, the value of sourcing and talent acquisition value mapping.

Here are the articles that interested us this week (in no particular order), enjoy!:

Source of Hire Report: Referrals, Career Sites, Job Boards Dominate by Lance Haun (@thelance)

As always, there is some interesting data in this year’s CareerXRoads Source of Hire report (def agree with Lance’s proviso at the beginning).  Definitely worth a look to see what’s working for other organizations.  However, also make sure you are capturing these types of recruitment metrics for your organization internally.

What if HR was Outlawed? by Jason Lauritsen (@JasonLauritsen)

Interesting mental exercise from Jason with some great insights into the activities and value HR brings to the organization.

Recruiters and Refs by William Tincup (@williamtincup)

Nice article on the similarities of recruiters and referees and how mistakes happen in both professions if you are trying to do your job well.

Beyond the Numbers: Demonstrating the Full Value of Sourcing (Part 1) by Jeri Risin (@Jeriar)

Jeri starts to outline her perception of value for sourcing and how it doesn’t lie fully in counting numbers.  I’m excited to see Part II in a few weeks.

Mapping the Value of Talent Acquisition by Jillyan French-Vitet (@JillyanFrench)

Interesting discussion of determining and mapping the value of the talent acquisition function to the core business.  Jillyan does a great defining and explaining the process.
