Company meeting in 2015. We’ve doubled in size since this photo, but kept our fun culture!

As the CEO of a high-growth company, ensuring a strong company culture and a high-energy workplace is one of my top priorities. To get and maintain this type of culture requires a team effort spanning your entire company. At SmashFly, our employees feel that sense of purpose, knowing they have real influence not only in who we are today but in what we’ll become in the future.

This sense of culture was acknowledged last year when our employees voted us a Best Place to Work. At just 50 employees, we were honored to have achieved such a great award. Since then, we’ve more than doubled the size of the company, and I’m honored that our employees continue to feel so strongly about our culture and workplace. I’m proud to announce that SmashFly was named a Boston Business Journal Best Place to Work again! I couldn’t be more excited to know we’ve continued to maintain such a high benchmark in our culture and work environment, even while we were going through the craziness of doubling the size of the company this past year.

Thanks to the dedication and commitment of this expanding team, we have reached some major milestones. We released SmashFly 15, the next major version of our Total Recruitment Marketing Platform. We’ve doubled the size of our engineering team, allowing us to focus on accelerating new innovative features. And we’ve launched a new recruitment marketing consulting team, focused on helping our customers truly leverage and take advantage of what an Enterprise Recruitment Marketing Platform can deliver.

It’s been no easy task. With every new hire, you are always asking yourself a set of core questions: Will the new people be a good fit? Will we keep our agile culture? 

Will our passion still be felt by 100 employees the way it was by 5 and 50? All I can say is, so far so good! Being voted a Best Place to Work two years in a row means we’re on the right track, and with a 5-star Glassdoor rating, I feel humbled to be leading such a great organization.

Finally, I should note that having such an employee-first culture is also important to our customers and partners. Why? Not just because we want to be a great place to work, but because we know that when we have passionate, collaborative and engaged employees, we will be a better partner for our customers. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard from our customers that one of the core reasons they chose SmashFly was because of our people and our commitment to demonstrate that partnership with every interaction we have with them. It would be impossible to have such a high level of partnership without our engaged and passionate employees. I thank them, from the bottom of my heart, for their continued commitment and shared passion and for making SmashFly what it is today and what it will be in the future.
